Ground School Programs

The mountains are a wonderful place to learn to fly!  Cornerstone can help you get started with your private flying experience or your commercial aviation career in fixed-wing aircraft or rotorcraft with our one-on-one aviation ground school programs.  A comprehensive program will include instruction in aerodynamics, aircraft systems, instruments, aircraft performance, weight and balance, human physiological factors, weather and weather services, flight planning, navigation, FAA regulations, airspace classifications, communications, and aviation safety.  If you don't need the entire program, but just need a refresher or assistance with specific topics, we can help!

Our programs can prepare you to pass your FAA written exam and can be coordinated with your flight training experience through Sugarpine Aviators, located at the Quincy airport.  Check them out at:

CATS Test Center

When you're ready to take your FAA written exam, you can take it right here with us!  Cornerstone is an FAA-approved testing site through Computer Assisted Testing Service (CATS).  We offer the FAA knowledge examinations for Private and Commercial pilot certificates, instrument ratings, airframe and powerplant, and all other FAA tests.

To schedule your test, you should call us at (530) 283-9396, then call CATS at (800) 947-4228 to arrange payment.  Evening and weekend appointments are available.  For further information, visit:
